| Hey guys.
Been doing some testing lately, mostly into traps and infilitration. Picking locks, defusing traps, gaining entry into trapped buildings. All I ask is if you guys give me some schematics or such so I can continue my testing. Any designs I get I will try to defuse, pick, or destroy. I will then relay my findings and coordinate my efforts with the authors of the traps so we can improve the design.
Thanks for hearing me out,
Lt. Cold Fusion | |

| Challenge accepted?Of course, the door that's open when unpowered (Talked about in an edit section of the post) is truly unhackable, short of actually blowing it up. | |

| Will you give me a picture or schematic for this unhackable door? | |

| Does it matter if it's unhackable? I will blow it up/break it down/break the blocks around it if it is, so it doesn't really matter. The most important thing is the traps. | |

| Well, if someone could get a server up, I could show how to make such a door, and *snicker* booby-trap it. An entire save file seems a bit extreme, but a mere diagram won't help, either. A server would be the best option in this case. And I'm still willing to redstone tutor! | |

I'll take you up on your redstone tutoring

| Can you tell me how the flip-flops work and what they do? I only understand the RS NOR Latch and the T flip-flop. I've tried to make the others but they don't seem to work properly. (I've read the wiki page) | |

I am up for this. I have just barely gained interest in Redstone. I know the basic traps and reverse circuits and such, but I don't know that much... Really, it's just the basics that help with traps that I know. Anything else, I still need to learn. So just let me know if you're ever going to run a Redstone class, and I'd attend.

| I'd be happy to help on saturday, or thursday if I'm online. All I need is a peaceful, not-war-zone server, and I'll show you the ropes. | |

| I might be able to host the server. However, Crazy has had problems on my server in the past with lag. | |

| This thread is an amazing repositories about all the ways to break into seemingly impenetrable structures: http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=1020&t=240778One question you should ask in regards to infiltration though, is what is your goal? Are you just trying to break into a base? If so, then you should just mine your way in through the side, rather than going through a potentially defended front door. If you're trying to get in without leaving any signs of entry...that's a little more challenging, but mainly involves just carefully repairing the damage you make during entry. Carry a stack of smoothstone with you. Most of the barriers to entry are really psychological, not physical. If someone puts a door in a wall, they are proposing a set of rules whereby getting through the wall requires that you use the door. What you must realize is that you are not obligated to play by their rules. | |

| I've found an amazing way of getting past any defence that could ever be made whatsoever!
It's called a stone pick and a couple stacks of dirt. I would like to see a lock, wall or defence that could hold me back for more than two or three minutes.
People tend to overcomplicate things like locks etc, why try to hack a lock when you can just destroy the block under the door? The only defence that it viable at all is being 100% hidden ~6k blocks out.

Like, random people outside of the PAoW spawn that find this shack covered in redstone torches and decide it's a good idea to go inside and try to get the loot from the chest.

| You could have the block under the door be obsidian. That always works. | |

Yeah, traps are all good (As long as they're done right) I was talking mainly about defences, like walls and stuff - CrazyLemon64 wrote:

That would make it slower but not by a lot. If I saw an iron door with an obsidian block under it I would just break the door instead, it takes like ~8 seconds or something? Seriously, the only defence that works is being hidden or far away.

Seriously, the only defence that works is being hidden or far away. Here's what you do... Leave the door open, the pressure plate they step on when entering closes the door permanently and sets off TNT. That, or make digging the walls set off TNT. It's not to keep people out, but to hinder raiders or at least punish those that are careless.

| Would you want the TNT going off in your base? It would be a pain to repair. Use lava to stop them.
Also, when infiltrating destroy all pressure plates.

| TNT can be safely detonated in a building by placing it in water, and as I pointed out in a previous thread, this can be used to make explosive traps within your own base. | |

| Well, then suspend magma above the door, and have the room behind the door be a fire hall. That's hot.
